Perfect for dehydration skin

Let down by price, packaging and shelf life
As the first moisturiser from Caroline Hirons, this is, in many ways, a disappointing and baffling product. Firstly, while a no-frills, uncomplicated everyday moisturiser is exactly what some of us - including me - want, this one is priced in line with much more hi-tech products. It’s a decent moisturiser, certainly, but you can get something similar for a lower price. It’s hard to shake the sense that this is a £30 moisturiser priced at £58. Secondly, its shelf life is only six months, instead of the usual 12 or more. For those of us who use different creams for day and night, or rotate two or three to allow for different weather conditions etc., the product will expire before it’s run out. Finally - and most bafflingly of all - there is the issue of the packaging. It’s a jar, albeit it an opaque one. One of the selling points of the moisturiser is its antioxidants. These, as CH knows, quickly degrade and lose their efficacy when exposed to light and oxygen - which happens every time you take the lid off. Then there is the matter of having to stick your bacteria-speckled fingers into the product every time you use it. Given that CH has said that the sealed pump jar (see Kate Somerville, Drunk Elephant etc.) should be the industry standard, it makes no sense at all that she has chosen a standard jar and lid for her first and much anticipated moisturiser. One can only assume she was trying not to further increase the price point. Overall, £58 for a fairly straightforward (if decent) moisturiser with a 6-month shelf life in a bog-standard jar is a rip-off. It just is.

Lacklustre
I found this product just ok. When I first opened /it, it seemed half empty maybe from an air bubble at manufacturing. So that was very disappointing I used it for a week and probably only had 2 weeks left of it so it definitely wasn’t the full amount it’s supposed to be. I was recommended this by one of the staff members at spaceNK. It’s a bit boring, doesn’t really do anything, I found it’s very similar to the ordinary which I found didn’t really do anything for me. But for 5x the amount was expecting much more. The only thing I will say is that it didn’t give me any redness which a lot of moisturisers do but other than that nothing else. Felt cheap

Really great
I really love this moisturiser and onto the second one. It's hydrating without feeling heavy and glides onto skin. It hasn't caused any breakouts and is a good all rounder of a moisturiser. Yes it is expensive and possibly that bit overpriced for a simple no frills formula.

Worth trying!
This moisturiser feels so nourishing and refreshing (the latter effect is particularly nice, because you feel it as soon as you apply it). Though it looks thick in the pot, it applies on smoothly and absorbs quickly. It doesn't feel greasy. My skin has been very happy since I started using this; it never irritates or stings my sensitive skin and I like the clean fresh scent. It sits well under sunscreen and makeup. I am borderline on whether I need to pay this much for moisturiser generally, though, especially when CH herself says this is not where to spend the money if your budget is limited... this is my reason for not giving it 5 stars. I've recently reviewed two other moisturisers at around this price point and one was more expensive and nowhere near as good and the other is also more expensive and, I think, better. I do recommend if budget isn't as much of an issue for you!
